External Undergraduate Summer Research Opportunities

 

This site provides links to many available summer programs across the nation.  In most cases, application deadlines are in February or early March and require transcripts, two letters of recommendation from faculty, and a completed application. Winthrop chemistry students have participated in all of these programs.

NIH Summer Internship Program in Biomedical Research 

 

The National Institutes of Health Summer Internship Program in Biomedical Research is intended to provide students with exciting research experiences in our intramural research laboratories in Bethesda, Maryland and selected off campus locations 


 

NSF REU Program: US Listing of Summer REU Sites

 

The National Science Foundation sponsors paid chemistry research opportunities at over 50 universities across the nation.

 


 

Department of Energy

  • UndergraduateFellowships in Nuclear Chemistry & Radiochemistry :  The Division of Nuclear Chemistry and Technology of the American Chemical Society sponsors summer schools in nuclear and radiochemistry funded by the U.S. Department of Energy. These six week summer schools are held at: San Jose State University, San Jose, CA and at Brookhaven National Laboratory, Upton, NY
